Penelope Pineapple's Pen Pals

After all the fun of Penelope Pineapple's Perplexing Puzzles, Penelope took a wee break.

Now she's back with a new project.

She knows she's spending too much time on her screens, but she still wants to stay in touch with everybody, so she's started writing letters and postcards to friends and followers. And they've been writing back!

If you'd like to become  one of Penelope's Pen Pals send us an email or get in touch through facebook, and we'll get the ball rolling.

Sing Along Tim's Homemade Sleep Over Party

Hello Friends,

I know my son Charlie is still holding on to the sleep over party he was supposed to have with his best friend that never happened because of the pandemic.  Here we are a year later.  So we thought we'd try and help out with a sleep over party concert.  We're going to make snacks (ants on a log & rice crispy squares ) we've got some fun games lined up, a craft, and lots of songs. We'll keep going as long as we can, after all that is what a sleep over party is all about isn't it?

We hope you can join us.

If you want to make snacks with us, please get hold of some celery and dried fruit and you can use cream cheese or peanut butter. I'm sure you know what you need to make rice crispy  squares.

In other news, Lori Nancy has written a wonderful article that you can read here

And I was interviewed for a podcast about why I do what I do. You can listen to it here

Please feel free to share with your friends.

Hope to see you on Wednesday.

Penelope Pineapple's Perplexing Puzzle

Hello Friends,

If your looking for something different to do this weekend, it's not too late to join Penelope Pineapple's Perplexing Puzzle.  The first 4 video chapters are up, full of games, challenges and clues. None of the answers to the clues have been revealed yet, so you can still help Penelope and the rest of the Pineapple Patrol solve the mystery.  And make sure to mark Sing Along Tim and Lori Nancy Kalamanski's Family Day Concert in your diaries.  That's right it's at !0am on Family Day, February 15th (toronto time).

Thank you & Happy New Year

Just a quick note from Lori Nancy and me.  We wanted to thank you for your support over the past year.  We know it's been tough for everybody, and it means a great to deal to us that you chose to spend some of your time with us, watching our shows during the first months of the lockdown, and listening, watching and actually helping us write some of the songs we made this year.

We very much hope that we'll have the chance to meet in person at a live show in 2021.

In the mean time, Happy New Year.

And please remember these 3 things:

1.  Wear A Mask

2. Wash Your Hands

3.  Don't Pick Your Nose and Eat It

New video and single for the holidays

Last Sunday, Lori Nancy and I live-streamed our Homemade Holiday Show.  We had a really lovely time.  Thanks to everybody who tuned in.  We got to read the story "Night Walk" by Sara O'Leary and Ellie Arscott.  We played our holiday single and some other favourite tunes.   Lori Nancy made a wonderful craft.  We released a new single and a video to go with it.  To top it all off, we are opening for Santa next week in a virtual show for Scadding Court EarlyON.  So if you've got a list, send it to us and we can have a word with Santa on your behalf.

Head over to the music page to stream or down load the new songs, and I've just updated the page so that my two solo albums, made in olden times, are up there too.

Over on the video page you'll find the video for our holiday single "First Snowfall" and the videos we made over the lock down, for "Handwashing Song" and "Wear A Mask Song"

Happy Holidays.  All the best

International Song Writing Competition 2017 Finalist

Sometime last year I entered our song "Booger Song" in the International Songwriting Competition, then I forgot all about it.  Earlier this week, I received an email telling me the song is a finalist. Very exciting.  I think the winners for each category will be announced at the beginning of April. Or maybe it's June.  We'll keep you posted.  The songs are being listened to by a panel of judges that includes Tom Waits, Nancy Wilson and Ziggy Marley.  There is also a People's Voice Award.  "The People" can vote every day for their favourite song.  There are 15 other finalists in the kids music category.  I haven't listened to the other songs yet.

I know I've been asking you to vote a lot lately, but if you could find the time to vote for us on this one too, that would be amazing.  Again, you can vote every day.

Here's the link:   ISC People's Voice

Searchlight 2018

Thanks so much to everyone who voted for us in the CBC Searchlight Competition.  I really appreciate that you took the time to read our posts, watch our videos and set up those fiddly little accounts with CBC.

I just checked out the final 100 and we are not on the list.  But we had fun,  and hopefully spread the word a little further about good music for kids and families.

Thanks again everyone.

Last Day Last Chance to Vote in Round 1, Last Question, You Can Vote Everyday

Ok here's the last question in the Ecological Cycle Song Quiz. It's the last day of Round 1.  It's the last time I'll be posting for a while.  Thanks to everyone who has voted and shared so far.  Let's do it one more time.  (By the way, there is a ghost in the machine on this one and Junkyard Rich sneaks in at the end.  I cannot edit him out.  {Ghost in the Machine is also probably my favourite album by The Police}) Here's the link 1 more time.  Vote Here Again!
